Who's the cutest?

Tammy and I made these ADORABLE owl candy-belly cards today. They are filled with mini M&Ms and the ribbon on the side is a slider so whoever gets this card can enjoy the candy too. If you are intested in making one I put the "recipe" below the picture...

The owl is cut at 3.5" from the Paisley Cricut Cartridge. The flower around his belly is cut at 1.5" from Mini Monograms (the scallop circle). The hole for the belly is cut at 1.25" - I used my Creative Memories circle cutter, but you can use the center function on the Cricut w/George and Basic Shapes if you want.

The belly is a Wilton candy mold from Michaels - when you cut it out leave a lip around the mold to glue it down in the card.

Measure a single piece of the same card stock that you are using for your card base to fit inside the front of the card. You will cut a hole in this piece also but the slider will fit beteween the belly mold and this piece so the candy doesn't come out until you want it to.

The branch is hand cut and the leaves are a small heart punch cut in half and shaped. I also used the Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug folder to emboss the front of the card.

The layers go as follows:

Assembled owl with hole
Card base w/hole
Belly mold
Slider piece w/ribbon
Piece of cardstock w/hole

When you glue down the cardstock make sure to leave a space without adhesive where the slider goes so that it makes a pocket (see photo below). Let me know if you have any questions! :)

Thank you! I agree - I was using Tammy's Paisley but I have been trying to get one on ebay for a few days! LOL

Did my instructions make sense? Let me know if I can help you with anything. :)
