Scrappy Moms Sneak Peak #2 - Kids Incorporated

Well, we made it to Friday! LOL :)

My project for today is from the new Scrappy Moms Stamps Kids Incorporated stamp set.

My little astronaut is from B is for Boy - isn't he cute? I have to admit he has a vauge resemblance to my son, as my oldest daughter told me as soon as she saw the card. LOL

The card base was made by welding 2 circles in my Gypsy. Then I used another circle with smaller circles and an oval cut out to form the terrain of the moon as the top layer. I used white glitter paper and Stickles to make the moon "glow". The rocket ship is from Just Because Cards and I used the water hose from Everyday Paper Dolls to for his life support hose. Oh, and, of course, the astronaut is ON A WOBBLE! LOL Seriously, if I could use one on every card I probably would... I think I'm addicted.

Here is the full Kids Incorporated set, in case you'd like to take a peek.

Thank you so much for visiting with me today - I hope you enjoyed my card. Have a wonderful Friday!

Homemade Christmas Blog Hop!

Merry Christmas and welcome! I'm sure you enjoyed Elsa's project, isn't she fabulous?!

Thank you for joining me today - I hope you like what I have to show you! These are my Christmas cards for this year. I made 2 sets of 10 different cards for a total of 20 handmade Christmas cards - whew!! :)

I used the same basic layout for all the cards - a mat of green cardstock with a white mat on top that I Cuttlebug-ed. I used the Snowflake, Distressed Stripe, Argyle, Swiss Dots, Polka Dots, and Script embossing folders by Cuttlebug and the Large Dots embossing folder by Quickutz. I use red Organdy ribbon from Joanns. Oh, a note about this ribbon - YUCK! I thought because it was sheer it would be easy to manipulate - boy, was I wrong! I would have picked a softer sheer ribbon if I had to do it again, this one was really stiff.
The Santa is cut from A Childs Year. The trees, mouse, baby Jesus, and presents are from Winter Frolic. The gingerbread man is from Just Because Cards. The Snowpeople and reindeer are from Winter Woodland. The angel and teddy bear are from Christmas Solutions, while the present the bear is leaning up against is from Sweethearts and stretched on my Gypsy. Wow was that lots of info!!!
It's hard to tell but I used Stickles or some kind of bling on each card - take a peek at some closer pictures to see if you can find it! LOL

The stamps are from Scrappy Moms Winter Wishes and The Charmed Life stamp sets. :)
I hope you enjoyed my cards! For blog candy I a giving away your choice of a Scrappy Moms Stamp set! Just leave me a comment for an chance to win - of course, if you like what you see here I'd love to have you join in and follow me. :)
Your next stop on the hop is the wonderful Amanda from My Scrap Obsession! Enjoy!

My Turn to Play! :)

Hello, all!

I have been working on this card for about a week - LOL. I really wanted to do a shape card and it just wasn't working out. So I put it away for a while - today I got it back out and finished it.

I made the base of the card in DS - it was a difficult shape to weld (in my opinion) since it isn't symetrical. So after playing and playing I welded it at the top. This meant that the leaf part of the card was "mangled" - lol. So I just printed the peach again and glued it to the front of the card. I use this technique with a lot of shape cards, it's great for when the weld "messes-with" the shape. I have included the side view so you can see the full light green base and the front of the peach. Let me know if you have any questions. :)

I used the peach from Just Because Cards, one of the tags from Once upon a Princess, and the sentiment if from our new Scrappy Moms Stamp Set Sweet Somethings. The base of the peach is embosses with the Large Dots embossing folder from Quickutz and the top layer with the Divine Swirls embossing folder by Cuttlebug. I also used stickles around the shadow of the tag for some sparkle. :)

Thank you for stopping by, have a wonderful day!

Bee's Knees Card - by ... ME! :)

Poor Momo and Nicole are still waiting on stamps! :( We will get their respective projects up as soon as they get them - I PROMISE!

So for today I have made a card with one of my favorite saying from this set. I hope you like it...

Once again I tried to use a cartridge other than CAC (just to show the versatility) - all the cut images on this card are cut from Just Because Cards. I made the shadow (red) of the label with the DS but the rest are cut straight from the cart. The honey pot was cut at 7.25", the bees at 1.5" and the label (blue) is 5.25". I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots (on the cream) and the Quickutz Polka Dots (on the blue) embossing folders. I stickled the word honey, the bee's wings and added a "honey" drip. :)

AND a bonus for me... I followed Emma's Throwback Thursday Challange for this week. :)

Thank you so much for joining us this week!

NSD Challenges #8 and #9

Here are two more completed challenges for My Pink Stamper's NSD Challenge!

Challenge #8 is to make a mono-chromatic project. I decided to make a gift card holder from one of the purses in Forever Young. I added Diamond Glaze to the shoes for a shine. The grey part in the back is actually a gift card w/the ribbon attached to the corner.

Challenge #9 is to use a shape - this card uses From My Kitchen for the jar and Just Because Cards for the pickles and quote.

I wasn't sure how either project would turn out but I really LOVE the purse giftcard holder and I think the pickle jar turned out cute, if a little simple! I made both cards in the DS so I don't have exact measurements but I can get close ones for your if anyone would like them. :)

Lemonade card with Just Because Cards

My friend Tammy bought the new Go To Sketches magazine by Paper Crafts and we just had to make a card from it today. We used different papers but followed the sketch, you can check hers out here . :)

The lemonade glass is from Just Because cards cut at 2.75", the scallop and circle for the tag are from Mini-monograms cut at 4.75". I used the Diamond Lace EK Success punch to make to border on the side. We found an adorable stamp in the $1 bin at Joanns that has a slice of lemon and says, "If life gives you lemons make lemonade and drink up". This is the sentiment stamped on the white circle tag.

Thanks for visiting! :)

"Just Because" Cards Cartridge and a gate card!

I received the new "Just Because" Cards Cricut Cartridge in the mail a few days ago and was just dying to play with it. I also wanted to try a new card design - gate cards or tri-fold cards. So here is my 1st attempt...

The truck is cut at 3.75" and the words "A little pick up for you" are cut at 3.5". I used my Nestabilities Deckled rectangles for the base of the truck.

For those of you who have never made a gate card her are the dimentions - 8.5" wide x 5.5" tall. Fold each side in 2 1/8" to meet in the middle - there are a couple of ways to do this. I made a prototype that I measured each side, scored it and then folded it and one that I just found the middle at 4.25" and brought each side in to meet at that point. I think that it is easier to mark the middle and fold in - if you have a scorepal or a very accurate measuring guide you might do better than I did with the 1st option (my sides overlapped a little).

Oh, and I found this out by trial and error. With "Just Because" Cards you have to figure all of your cuts by the size of the card. You can't use the real dial size button either - the layers won't be the right size. I start off with around a 4.5" cut for most shapes and then go up or down from there - keep some scrap paper handy. It might be kind of a pain but it's so worth it, don't you agree? :)
