Prayers for Monique!

I just wanted to do a quick post about our fellow crafty blogger, Monique from Monique Griffith Designs. She was diagnosed with Invasive Breast Cancer this year and is undergoing a double mastectomy today. Please keep her in your prayers for a successful surgery and an easy recovery!

I DID IT!!! * Update

I bit the bullet and went and got a Gypsy! I was going to buy one from one of blogging buddies but felt guilt about spending the money. When I told my husband I wasn't going to do it he said that I deserved it and I just just go buy it. YAY!!

So now I have (hopefully) registered it and am waiting on THE email - the one that has my Cricut rewards - so I know for sure it went through. I checked on my Cricut.com account and it doesn't show up yet. If it's not there tomorrow I'm going to call PC and make sure it's registered. I want to make sure that I don't miss-out on the cartridge downloads on Nov 1st. Or maybe the second - I bet PC's servers crash A LOT on the 1st with all the people trying to complete the download! LOL

*** I wound up calling PC and for some reason I wasn't prompted to do the Gypsy Sync yesterday - so I WASN'T REGISTERED. Whew - I'm glad I called!! I got everything to work today and have run all the updates as well. Yay! ***

Anyhow, if any of you have great tips/secrets to share about using the Gypsy I'm all ears! :)

Big {{{ GYPSY HUGS }}}!
(Sorry, Emma- I had to use it just this once, LOL!)

New A Pinch and A Dash Sneak Peek!

Happy Friday!! Today a have a new SIMPLE sneak peek card for you - it seems to be one of the more "popular" sentiments on our new A Pinch and A Dash set . LOL

The yo-yo is from B is for Boy and cut at 3.5". I love Nicole's card with the wonky rectangle from George and Basic Shapes so much I decided to try one of the rectangles on my card -thanks for the inspiration Nicole! :) I used the DS to make it and it's shadow so I don't have an exact size but it's approximately 4" high by 3 1/8" wide.

I like that the yo-yo is an unusual cut to use with a kitchen themed stamp set - yet, somehow it just fits (at least to me - LOL)!

I hope you enjoyed my little card! Have a great day!

Winner from Funmare Blog Hop!!!

I just realized that I STILL haven't drawn a winner from the Funmare Before Christmas Blog Hop!!! I am sorry - it's been a crazy couple of weeks!

So here is the lucky winner...

A Pinch and A Dash Sneek Peek - Relish the Day!

Happy Monday! I was finally able to finsh this card today - it has been a CRAZY week! :)

The hot dog is cut at 2.5" from Simply Charmed and I used Star Dust Stickles on the relish for a little pizzaz! The tag is from Once Upon a Princess (the fairy button) at 3" and I used my white paint pen to doodle. The sentiment is from our new Scrappy Moms Stamps set - A Pinch and A Dash.

I hope you enjoyed my card - you can see other great projects at...
Thank you for joining me today - have a wonderful week!

Funmare Before Halloween Blog Hop!

Thank you for joining me from the Fang-tastic Meighen! I hope you enjoy the creepy little project I have for you...

I am making this ghostie lollipop holders for my girls' classes for Halloween. Unfortunately, I only had time to get ONE done for the hop - it's been a CRAZY week! LOL

I used the DS to weld the ghost shadow together to form the "wrapper" then cut the white ghost twice for the back and front. I used the Scrappy Moms Stamps A Haunting We will Go set for the sentiment. For the eyes I use Peachy Keen Everyday Character faces - I masked everything but the eyes. I used a carmel apple lollipop and trimmed down the wrapper on the corners so they wouldn't stick out.

For blog candy I am giving away a choice of one of our Scrappy Moms Stamps set. :) Just leave me a comment with a way to get a hold of you to enter. If you enjoyed your visit and don't already follow me, I'd love for you to join it. :)

Hope you enjoyed your visit - creep on to Nicole at Canadian Nickel Scrapn' for a frightfully good time!

Momo's Birthday Bash Blog Hop! :)

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, MOMO!! Thank you so much for allowing me to join you in celebration your special day! {{{ HUGS }}}

To everyone else - thank you for joining me today!! :) I have birthday invites that I made for my daughter's b-day which is next week. She wanted to have a spa themed sleepover. So this is what I came up with...

I made the cupcakes using these supplies for each one - 1 pair of socks, 1 knitted headband, and a silicone cupcake mold. The sign is made with 2 circle punches (the 2nd one is on the back and has all the details like date and time, etc) and one larger scalloped circle punch and a popsicle stick.

I placed the socks together, folded up the bottoms of the socks just a bit and placed the headband at the toe (I folded it so it wouldn't stick out the bottom). Then I rolled up the socks starting at the end with the toe and working toward the heel. I used one of the socks to secure the roll by pulling the opening up around the roll. Put the sock into the cupcake wrapper and then pinch and pull on the folds until you feel that they look like swirls of frosting. :)

We are planning on using the headbands during our facials, and the socks to help the foot cream absorb before the pedicures. So, this is not only pretty but functional - LOL! :)

In honor of Momo's birthday I am giving away a choice of one Scrappy Moms Stamps! You can see them HERE. Just leave me a comment with how to get in contact with you to enter.

Here is the hop list, be sure to visit all the awesome crafters - have fun! :)

Ok, everyone... One... two... three... "Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Momo, happy birthday to you! "

Peachy Keen Oct Challenge!

This is my entry into the Peachy Keen Stamps October Challenge.

I used Paper Doll Dress up for all the cuts on this page except the clouds, which I hand cut. I used the Everyday Character Assortment stamp set for Dorothy's face. It's hard to see but the word "shoes" and Dorothy's ruby slippers have been stickled (click to enlarge - you can see it a little better, LOL)

Hope you enjoyed it!

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner! :)

I have NO IDEA where this phrase comes from but it make me giggle!! LOL

So down to business - I FINALLY picked a winner from the Little Hop Of Horrors Halloween Hop.... (drumroll, please)....

Jennifer!!!
Mel, I can't think of a better prize!!! I am in love with all of the Scrappy Mom Stamps...it'll be so hard to choose one if I'm lucky enough to win! ;) I love the cards and goody bag you made!!! :) Which embossing folder did you use for the spider web? Thanks so much for sharing and for the chance to win such an amazing prize,

Jennifer, I am e-mailing you for your mailing address and choice of stamp sets. Congrats!! :)

I also wanted to address a couple of questions/comments...

1) The spiderweb embossing folder is made by Cuttlebug - Click HERE for more info

2) The vintage images are from the web - I just did a search for "vintage Halloween postcards". :)

3) A few visitors thought that I colored the images - I WISH I could color that well!! :) I actually printed the images on ivory cardstock to add to the vintage coloring.

I hope I answered all the questions, let me know if you have any others.
