Terrific Tuesday Challenge - Back to School

It's that time again - Back to School!  Here in AZ our kiddos go back by the beginning of August - some as early as the end of July.  I guess they figure that it's so darn hot the kids might as well be in an air-conditioned school all day.  LOL

For our Terrific Tuesday Challenge this week we want to see your Back to School related projects.  Here's mine...

It's a dry erase board - a teacher gift that I made for both my girls teachers.  I included a dry erase pen - not shown - that way they can use it right away!  I used ruler print ribbon (that I've had in my stash forever!) to make the bow.  The tag shape is from Once Upon a Princess - I just made the one slightly larger for the shadow. "Just a Note" is from Scrappy Moms Stamps The Charmed Life set.  For the A,B,C blocks at the bottom I used SMS Alphabet Soup stamp set and Alphabet Soup die.  I used the die to cut 2 layers - one of cardboard and one of cardstock so they would be sturdy.  I masked off the numbers on the stamps so that only the letters would stamp.  I use hot glue to adhere everything to the black 5x7 picture frame (from Target).

Terrific Tuesday Challenge - Retro Fun!

Happy Tuesday!  Here is my project for our retro Terrific Tuesday Challenge...

I made a gift card holder from an cassette case.  I cut the insert to size based on the original insert.  Next, I cut the cassette from the Silhouette store and stamped Happy Birthday.  The main sentiment is stamped on a shape from my very favorite Fiskars cloud punch.  "Happy Birthday" is from Scrappy Moms Stamps Mini Messages and "Totally Rad" is from Blast from the Past.

Here is what I put inside...

I added a pack of Juicy Fruit gum to go with the gift card - I think that this makes a fun little gift card holder.  In case you don't have any cassettes laying around, try Goodwill - I got mine there for 69 cents!  :)

Just a quick post to share a thank you card I made...

I cut the decorative shape/shadow and the heart from Lacy Labels. Then I added the ribbon and stamp from SMS Many Thanks set - Voila, done! :)

Now for the "bonus" - my daughter wanted to make a project too...

We have had this cute little unicorn stamp forever and she had the great idea to stamp him with the mustache from Blast From the Past.  This rainbow paper works perfectly with him and she added the sentiment and ribbon to make herself a bookmark.  (I told you in my last post the we always need book marks! LOL)

Introducing 2 New Scrappy Moms Stamps - Blast from the Past & Many Thanks!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday!  Thank you so much for joining me to f the 1st day of Scrappy Moms Stamps July release.  My 1st project is from Blast from the Past...

My daughter and I are avid readers and seem to lose bookmarks left and right, so when I was thinking about a project I remembered this cute alligator from Create-a-Critter.  I used my Gypsy to weld a rounded rectangle to the shadow of the alligator to make the base and then added the layers.  I couldn't decide if I wanted to used patterned paper or not so I did both.  :)  I added tiny gems for a little bling.

The second set being released this month is Many Thanks!  I know that I never seem to have a Thank You card when I need one.  We designed Many Thanks to help you increase your thank you card supply.  :)

Terrific Tuesday Challenge - Hit the Beach!

Hi, everyone!  Thanks for stopping by to see my Terrific Tuesday Challenge for this week...

What is it? You might ask... it's not a card, it's not a scrapbook layout, it's not a box!?!?  Here, let's see if this helps...

I remembered seeing this somewhere on line a while ago and thought, I think I can re-create it from memory.  So here's what I did - I used one blue 4x6 piece of paper and one white 4x6 paper and used my scalloped edge punch on    one end of both. Then I lined them up together so the white piece stuck out just a bit and glued them together.  Then I folded down the scalloped side about 1 inch and folded the other side so it nesseled under the fold. 

Next, I punched a hole on each side thru all three pieces - the front, tucked side and the back of the fold.  When I was done with the embellishment from Pack Your Bags and embossing my sentiment from Scrappy Moms Stamps Quirky Quotes set, I threaded twine thru the holes the yellow circle and tied a knot  That holds the whole project together - simply slip your roll of Lifesavers candy int the bend of the sleeve.

Here is my project...

I made my little ferris wheel on MTC using a cut from Lettering Delights.  I welded a rectangle and circle together to make the base of the card.  I made the pennant banner on my Gypsy using George and Basic Shapes.  The sentiment of from Scrappy Moms Stamps Spring Fair stamp set, which... (drum roll, please)... is my blog candy for this hop! :)
