MOJO Monday Challenge #149

Happy weekend, everyone! I decided to participate in the Mojo Monday Challenge #149. Here is the sketch itself...

And here is my version...

All of the circles from the Mini Monogram Cricut Cartridge, including the scalloped circle card base that I welded together in the Cricut Design Studio. The sentiment tag is from the Once Upon a Princess cart and the caldron is from Mini Monsters. The sentiment is from the A Haunting We Will Go stamp set by Scrappy Moms Stamps. I added stickles on the potion/bubbles and used a paint pen to doodle around the shape.

I hope you enjoyed your visit here!

Lemonade card with Just Because Cards

My friend Tammy bought the new Go To Sketches magazine by Paper Crafts and we just had to make a card from it today. We used different papers but followed the sketch, you can check hers out here . :)

The lemonade glass is from Just Because cards cut at 2.75", the scallop and circle for the tag are from Mini-monograms cut at 4.75". I used the Diamond Lace EK Success punch to make to border on the side. We found an adorable stamp in the $1 bin at Joanns that has a slice of lemon and says, "If life gives you lemons make lemonade and drink up". This is the sentiment stamped on the white circle tag.

Thanks for visiting! :)

Sweet Sunday Challenge #57

This is my 1st time participating in the Sweet Sunday Challange over at The Sweetest Thing. Here is the sketch we are working from...

I decided to flip the sketch on it's side to use a longer sentiment. I wasn't sure I would like the completed project but I really like how it turned out.  What do you think?  :)

Who's the cutest?

Tammy and I made these ADORABLE owl candy-belly cards today. They are filled with mini M&Ms and the ribbon on the side is a slider so whoever gets this card can enjoy the candy too. If you are intested in making one I put the "recipe" below the picture...

The owl is cut at 3.5" from the Paisley Cricut Cartridge. The flower around his belly is cut at 1.5" from Mini Monograms (the scallop circle). The hole for the belly is cut at 1.25" - I used my Creative Memories circle cutter, but you can use the center function on the Cricut w/George and Basic Shapes if you want.

The belly is a Wilton candy mold from Michaels - when you cut it out leave a lip around the mold to glue it down in the card.

Measure a single piece of the same card stock that you are using for your card base to fit inside the front of the card. You will cut a hole in this piece also but the slider will fit beteween the belly mold and this piece so the candy doesn't come out until you want it to.

The branch is hand cut and the leaves are a small heart punch cut in half and shaped. I also used the Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug folder to emboss the front of the card.

The layers go as follows:

Assembled owl with hole
Card base w/hole
Belly mold
Slider piece w/ribbon
Piece of cardstock w/hole

When you glue down the cardstock make sure to leave a space without adhesive where the slider goes so that it makes a pocket (see photo below). Let me know if you have any questions! :)

New card...

I just finished this card today - it's been a while since I crafted and wanted to get something done! :) I bought a STASH of buttons last week at Joann's when they were on sale for 50% - now I have over 1000 buttons for less than $10! What a deal! So, of course, I had to put a few of my new buttons to good use.
